The equipment we use has changed dramatically since our inception in 1956. From steel hardhats, wool jackets, paper maps and compasses we have moved into the world of live tracking, state of the art waterproof materials and the latest in greatest in protective equipment.

Without our dedicated volunteers AVRS would be nothing. Beyond the rescue our specialized teams put in hundreds of hours of training, and our board of directors keep the lights on and ensure our team has what it takes to get the job done.
